What are the steps to apply for Denmark as International Student from Nepal?

Step 1: How to apply at University of Denmark.

  1. Search for the university you wish to apply for
  2. Get the following documents ready when applying for the universities:
    1. Passport
    2. Passport size photo
    3. All previous academic certificates
    4. All certificates from schools and colleges, such as migration, transcript, character certificates.
    5. Study of Purpose (SOP)
    6. Letter of Recommendation (two if for masters)
    7. CVs (European style)
    8. Work Experiences (if any)
    9. Any English Language Proficiency test
    10. Medium of Instructions (MOI – if no no. 9)
  • Make sure your educational documents are certified correctly and submit the official translations of these documents if necessary: 
    The required educational documents (degree certificate, transcript of records) must be submitted in Finnish, Swedish or English. All translations of the required documents are to be made by an official translator and must bear the signature and stamp of the translator. An officially certified copy of the document in the original language must be submitted together with the translation.
  • When you have your documents ready, fill in the application in Studyinfo. Upload your documents to your application and save the application form

Step 2: After submitting the application to the university

An admission decision is made two weeks after the application has arrived with all the enclosures needed. The applicant must accept the study place within 14 days and pay possible tuition fee within two months. The applicant sends in the educational documents according to country specific requirements.

Once the fees have been paid and documents have been sent by post –  the offer of admission is no longer conditional. 

Now, you apply for the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to pay the fees.

Step 3: Applying for NOC

  1. To apply for NOC – you need to visit Ministry of Education, Science and Technology website – https://noc.moest.gov.np/
  2. Register to the site if you have not using your mobile number
  3. Fill up the application form and upload all the required documents.
  4. Pay Rs. 2000 fees. 
  5. After 2,3 days you will receive a notification on your registered mobile with a visiting date to collect your NOC.
  6. Visit NOC office with all required documents to collect your NOC.
  7. Documents required when visiting NOC office to collect your NOC.
    1. Passport (Original & notarized photocopy)
    2. Citizenship (Original & notarized Photocopy)
    3. Academic transcripts of the last Academic degree (Original & notarized photocopy)
    4. Offer letter from the university.

Step 4: After NOC

  1. Pay your tuition fees to the university.
  2. Email your tuition fees paid receipt to the university.
  3. University will now send you the Acceptance Letter.

Step 5: Prepare all documents for Visa

You can either book an appointment and get all documents sorted or prepare all the necessary documents and book an appointment.

Step 6: How to apply for a Denmark student visa from Nepal

If you are an international student, you will need a student visa in Finland or a Finnish residence permit. This is typically issued for one or four years. Students must be enrolled for courses in Universities in Finland for the long term, or more than 90 days. You will do this through the Finnish Immigration Service where you will have to upload the following documents:

  • A valid passport.
  • Acceptance Letter from the University you have Applied to.
  • Proof that you have enough money to cover your study and living expenses.
  • A valid Health Insurance coverage proof.
  • If the documents are not in English, Finnish, or Swedish language, you will also need official translations.
