How to apply for NOC in Nepal?

Steps to follow to Apply for NOC from Nepal.

To apply for NOC – you need to visit Ministry of Education, Science and Technology website – https://noc.moest.gov.np/
Register to the site if you have not using your mobile number
Fill up the application form and upload all the required documents.
Pay Rs. 2000 fees.
After 2,3 days you will receive a notification on your registered mobile with a visiting date to collect your NOC.
Visit NOC office with all required documents to collect your NOC.

2. Citizenship (Original & notarized Photocopy)

Why do we need NOC?

Two reasons to get NOC from government:

Approval from Government of Nepal for you to study abroad
Permission for international transaction – to pay tuition and living cost fees or any other expenses.

What to do when you experience a problem while filling up the NOC application form?

There are two specific error you may receive, when filling up your NOC application form online:

Server down: Server is busy and you need to try some other time.
Quota Full: Website has reached its maximum capacity and that you need to try submitting your application later time.

What to do if any mistakes while filling up the NOC form or any mistakes on NOC letter?

If mistake while filling up the form: cancel and start with new NOC application form.
If mistake in NOC letter – Request NOC office for correction. You may need to fill another NOC application form with correct details.

How to get new NOC, when you have old NOC?

If you have not used your old NOC letter to send money – you can fill up the new application form – referencing your old NOC letter.
If you have used your old NOC letter to send your tuition fees, you need proof that tuition fees were refunded in your bank statement.

What to do if I lost my NOC letter?

You need to visit Ministry of Education and submit a written application requesting a new NOC.
You may need to fill a new NOC application form using new mobile number.
Provide identification documents to prove your identity.
Pay Rs. 2000 to receive a new NOC letter.

When visiting office to collect our NOC letter, do we take only the original copies or has to be notarized?

In most cases, photocopies should be ok but there are times when the Ministry of Education may ask for original documents or notarized copies of certain documents. But you have to take your original Passport.

What if you do not find the course you are going to study when filling up the NOC form?

You can male a “Subject Request” from NOC website by filling up a form.

It will take around 7 days to show up in the NOC application form once it is approved from the Ministry of Education.

What if I was refused NOC letter?

You need to visit NOC website and review your NOC refusal notice.

Go through the refusal notice and take appropriate steps to address the issues. It could be – providing necessary information, correcting errors or providing requested documents.

After following the steps, you can re-submit your NOC application or follow the instructions provided by NOC.
